Robinson, Hon. Angela C.
For 20 years, Judge Robinson sat on the Connecticut Superior Court, handling hundreds of trials. She presided over cases involving commercial law, contracts, employment, housing, insurance, medical and legal malpractice, personal injury, municipal law, products liability, zoning and more. At the time she retired from the bench in 2018, she served as Administrative Judge for the judicial district of New Haven and for many years prior to that, she was the Civil Presiding Judge in the New Haven district, the busiest civil docket in Connecticut at the time. In the fall of 2020, she joined Halloran Sage and has focused on mediation and arbitration since then.
Judge Robinson complements her experience as a jurist with having practiced law on both sides. She was both a plaintiff’s lawyer at a nationally renowned boutique law firm in Bridgeport and also a litigation partner doing defense work at a multi-state, New Haven based firm.
Judge Robinson has received many awards and honors, including the Connecticut Law Tribune’s Distinguished Leader Award in 2019, the Edwin Archer Randolph Diversity award, the Judicial award from the Connecticut Trial Lawyers’ Association, and the Diversity Award in 2014 from the Young Lawyers’ section of the Connecticut Bar Association.
A firm believer in the power of ADR, she founded Robinson Diversity Consulting through which she has helped litigants and prospective litigants resolve disputes as well as addressing issues of workplace diversity, equity and inclusion.
In addition to teaching at Quinnipiac and Yale law schools, Judge Robinson serves on the boards of both the New Haven Legal Assistance Association and the New Haven Arts Council.
